Phuket Restaurants
Baan Rim Pa
223 Kalim Beach Rd, Patong, Thailand 83150, 076 340 789
Atop a cliff with sweeping views of Patong Beach, Baan Rim Pa is a truly elegant setting for an unforgettable foodie experience.
The interior is all teak and brass and a piano bar adjoins the restaurant. The cuisine here is Royal Thai, with recipes once found
only in the Grand Palace in Bangkok. A few of its specialties are lobster with black pepper, baked herb rice in pineapple and
tiger prawns in tamarind sauce.
Silk Restaurant & Bar
5/50 The Plaza, The Plaza Hotel, Surin Beach, Phuket, Thailand 83110, 076 271 702
This super-sophisticated restaurant, situated on the top floor of the Plaza Hotel at Surin Beach, gives you gourmet cuisine in a
gorgeous setting. Contemporary Thai design is the backdrop for dishes such as white snapper with chili and lime juice and roast
duck red curry – attention is paid to the last detail and so the restaurant excels at presentation and service. Diners can either
eat on opium beds on the terrace or at the cozy, flower-strewn indoor tables. There’s also a take-away service.
Joe's Downstairs
223/3 Prabaramee Rd, Patong, Thailand 83150
This is a fabulous place for sunset drinks. The cocktails are great and food sensational. During our visit we have dined here
twice. The first night we had a selection of tapas. Must admit we over ordered as we thought they would be small serves, not so.
The second night I had imported lobster, expensive but the best I have ever had. This is worth trying.
Watermark Phuket
22/1 Moo 2, Thepkasattri Rd, Boat Lagoon Marina, Koh Kaew, Thailand 83000, 076 239 730
Rubbing shoulders with the luxury yachts at the Boat Lagoon, this brasserie is modern in every sense – the d?cor, furnishings,
and the menu itself, which tags its food as ‘modern cuisine and contemporary Thai’. Pan-seared tuna wrapped in Parma ham,
three-peppercorn pork and Japanese seaweed salad are just a few of the dishes currently available all day; the menu changes
twice a year. Some delicious juices, great cocktails, various wines and cigars on sale, too.
Sam's Steaks & Grill
52 Thaweewong Rd, Holiday Inn Resort, Patong Beach, Patong, Thailand, 076 340 608
If you hanker for a big pepper steak, a beef Wellington or crispy skin Atlantic salmon, head on down to Sam’s in the Holiday Inn
at Patong beach. Only imported meats are used, and the consistent quality has earned the place a good reputation among
Phuket diners. Desserts include pineapple sorbet and profiteroles. Good service and comprehensive wine list. No shorts or
sandals.
Da Maurizio Bar Ristorante
223/2 Kalim Beach Rd, Patong, Thailand 83150, 076 344 079
Run by the same people as the nearby Baan Rim Pa, this place enjoys an idyllic location with sweeping views of Patong Beach.
Exquisite modern Italian dishes include bacon-wrapped goat’s cheese and mint pappardelle with lamb ragout. There’s an
extensive wine list, and the service is exemplary.
